Elder Whiting's background
Elder Whiting was born and grew up in California. He became an Eagle Scout and received three palms. He completed his first year at Brigham Young University and enjoyed living at Helaman Halls while there.
Prior to his missionary call, Elder Whiting had traveled in Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica and greatly enjoyed the people in the Central American lands.
